What are Online Graduate Degrees?

Enrolling in an online graduate school allows you to earn advanced degrees including online graduate degrees and doctoral degrees. In order to complete online graduate degrees, students usually have to write some form of thesis or dissertation and the studying towards completing that thesis is focused usually on one specific topic or aspect.

Most online graduate degrees can be earned in about 2 years (or less), and that includes online as well as on-campus degree programs.

But why put in that extra effort and time (not to mention money)? The simple reason is that most employers will tend to offer higher salaries to those with more education, especially those with grad degrees. Depending on the career, some online graduate degree holders can earn between 25%-50% more than those with only an undergraduate diploma under their belt.

As an employer, candidates with master’s degrees tend to show a desire to learn and characteristically seem to have more initiative and enthusiasm for what they do versus an employee with an associates or bachelors degree. Earning a master’s degree could help you gain respect from your peers and supervisors and may add a few extra “points” to your record should a promotion become available.
