Dominican University began at the turn of the 20thcentury as St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. It moved outside of Chicago, Illinois in 1922. The school changed names a few times becoming Rosary College and then Dominican University in 1997. Dominican University’s environment is intimate with class sizes averaging only 15 students. Students can choose from more than 50 academic programs, nine pre-professional and four graduate schools. Areas of concentration include library and information science, business, education and social work. Classes are available in a dozen other locations and six schools are affiliated with Dominican University. As a Catholic university, it remains grounded in the vision of the founders the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary.
