The career paths that are available for masters in accounting program degree holders are numerous. Many for-profit and non-profit organizations look for accountants for a variety of functions including payroll, taxes, general ledgers, and creating budgets.

By enrolling in a  masters in accounting program, accountants can go one to apply for their CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license.

Fortunately for those who work full time and cannot afford to take the time out from work to earn an education, there are a variety of accounting graduate degree programs online. These can be completed from any computer with a working internet connection and the minimum technical requirements. Coursework can be completed at home, in a local coffee shop, or even on the bus or train. Online accounting graduate degree courses are worth just as much as on-campus degrees as well, so long as the school is legitimately accredited.

Students who want to also study business for their masters degree can also enroll in an MBA program with a concentration in accounting. This degree can also be completed at home through an online degree program.

Masters in accounting degree holders can find well-paying jobs. A degree holder who becomes a public auditor or a payroll clerk can earn about $60,000 per year. Certified Public Accountants or even auditors can earn between $80,000 and $100,000 per year.
